Announces Partnership with Evidence In Motion
San Luis Obispo, California – (December 1, 2008) – San Luis Sports Therapy and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (SLST) & Athlon Physical Therapy (APT) announced an official partnership with Louisville, KY based Evidence In Motion (EIM) to collaborate in the delivery of EIM’s Orthopaedic Residency and Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship training programs. As part of the agreement, SLST & APT becomes a Network Partner for Evidence in Motion’s Orthopedic Residency and Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship training in the communities they serve.
SLST & APT will serve as a training location for EIM’s clinical residency, fellowship, and traditional continuing education curriculum. EIM Residents and Fellows will be exposed to a vast community of evidence-based professionals and trained to apply the best evidence for patient care to become premier practitioners of orthopedic rehabilitative medicine.
Using the most up-to-date research and cutting edge technology, EIM is transforming the way physical therapists are trained and educated, allowing professionals to complete the majority of the coursework online. EIM’s Orthopaedic Residency and Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship training programs are delivered to the physical therapist, where they live and work, through web-based educational “distance learning” platforms, complimented by on-site weekend intensives conducted at Network Partner locations, and a thorough mentoring regimen.

The addition of SLST & APT as a Network Partner will allow EIM to reach a broader base of physical therapists. The partnership will also allow SLST to expand its internal clinical education and research activities. Several of the offerings included in the Residency and Fellowship curricula will also be made available to other SLST staff, which will enhance lifelong learning and quality improvement initiatives for all professional personnel.
