Personal Profile:
G.R. Nessenthaler graduated from Old Dominion University with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 1996 and received his Doctorate from Western University in 2008. He has been the Director of Physical Therapy for San Luis Sports Therapy and Orthopedic Rehabilitation’s Arroyo Grande clinic since its inception in 1999. He brings a large body of postgraduate education to his practice, where his specialty is orthopedics. He was certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy for the spine from the McKenzie Institute USA in 2002, and obtained his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2003. G.R. enjoys keeping therapy fun and interesting for his clients while helping them to achieve their goals. He lives in Arroyo Grande and enjoys surfing, biking, and traveling in his spare time.

Personal Profile:
Marlena was born and raised in the Central Coast, living in Santa Maria with Mom, Dad, and older sister Melanie.  She attended St. Joseph High School from 1993-1997, until then departing to Fresno State to play Division 1 soccer and begin the process of becoming a Physical Therapist.  She earned a B.S. in Kinesiology with an Exercise Science option, while working as a P.T aide in a sports therapy clinic.  In 2002, she moved down south to work on her Masters in Physical Therapy at Long Beach State.  She graduated as President of her P.T. class while also working as a Graduate Assistant for her Orthopedics professor. 

Fitness has always been an integral part of Marlena's life.  She started playing soccer at age 5 and has not stopped yet.  Swimming, hiking, running, and triathlons have become another joy, pretty much anything that gets her outside.  She has taken her admiration and respect for movement and activity to make her treatments as exciting and functional as possible.  Her experience with neuromuscular rehabilitation through internships has led to a well rounded approach to the progression and refinement of movement in Physical Therapy.

Personal Profile:
Matthew was born and raised in the beautiful city of Chicago Illinois. Following family tradition Matthew attended college at Southern Illinois University, graduating from their physical therapy assistant program. After graduation Matthew moved back to Chicago where he would eventually meet his future wife. Growing tired of Chicago’s harsh winters, Matthew’s wife, who grew up in Arroyo Grande, “talked” Matthew into moving to California in the summer of 2006. Matthew is still adjusting to living in California, but is fitting in nicely. Matthew and his wife are expecting their first child in March of 2009.

In his personal time Matthew enjoys music, reading, skateboarding, being disappointed by his beloved Cubs, and playing with his Boston Terrier.

Personal Profile:
Tim was born and raised in Burbank, California the oldest of three. Growing up with his sister and brother, he learned that he wanted to work with people and help them like his mother, who was a nurse and his father, who was a fireman did. After receiving his physical therapy degree, he worked in many areas including in patient rehab, outpatient, acute therapy, aquatics, and home-health physical therapy. He became the clinical supervisor of clinical education at a large hospital. He enjoys working with all patient populations utilizing manual techniques to assist them to move better

In 2008, he decided to move to the Central Coast to live and work. He lives with his wife and 2 young daughters. When not working, he enjoys playing with his daughters, who love being outside, and discovering the beautiful central coast.
