Aquatic therapy uses the advantages of water to reduce stress on joints and muscles by minimizing the effects of gravity on the body. The emphasis of treatment is to reduce pain, increase mobility, and regain function. Aquatic treatment is coordinated with a land-based physical therapy plan and varies based on individual. Swimming experience is not necessary.
Diagnoses treated in aqua therapy include:
Post surgical conditions
Pregnancy related musculoskeletal dysfunction
Offices offering program: Paso Robles & Santa Maria
The Paso Robles office uses a machine called the Aquatrex for water-based therapy. This unit is a functional rehabilitation tool allowing the patient to walk on an underwater treadmill during their treatment or use the water filled tank to do water based exercise. The depth and temperature of the unit can be modified to fit the patient’s needs.
The Santa Maria office utilizes a full size indoor pool at the Western Village Health Club accessible by stairs or lift. A physical therapist directs each treatment session alongside the patient in the pool.
"Jennifer S is so thorough and listens to patient comments, very intelligent, well trained and professional as well as the assistants and front office receptionists It is very hard to find the professionalism in medical settings it seems, so to have a very upbeat staff is to be commended Well done I started out in Templeton and am currently in Paso Robles and found both facilities equally great"
